In the past year or two, foldable smartphones have begun to gain traction, and in 2022, Samsung and Motorola will release improved foldable hardware, ramping up the rivalry.

Though the Google Pixel Fold is expected to launch this year, it’s possible that Google is planning its own entrance into this developing industry. However, other rumours indicate that the foldable phone may really have been postponed or scrapped.

The most anticipated and first foldable smartphone from Google has been making headlines for a while. It was once anticipated that it will be launched in 2021, however that did not happen. Then, there were rumours that the foldable smartphone, which had previously been postponed, might come at the end of this year.

Now, a fresh piece of information from renowned display expert Ross Young suggests that the foldable smartphone—rumored to be dubbed the “Google Pixel Fold”—will be unveiled in March 2023.

Young, the CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC), recently stated that the foldable might be released in March 2023 since there are still four months until the panel production of the device begins.

Currently, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 from Samsung is seen as a direct rival to the Pixel Fold. The information around Google’s Pixel Fold is scarce, though.

According to previous and current reports, Google’s foldable phone may be referred to as either “Pixel Fold” or “Pixel Notepad.” It will be intriguing to see what name the search engine powerhouse chooses.

The foldable smartphone is said to have a flexible 7.6-inch OLED primary display with a 120Hz display refresh rate as far as specifications are concerned. Additionally, it will include an outside display that is operable even when the phone is folded. It will sport a 50MP camera in addition to two 12MP sensors and an 8MP camera on the camera front.

Other than the aforementioned, not much information is currently accessible. As soon as we learn more, we’ll keep you informed. Stay tuned, then!
