Desktop Support Engineer

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Desktop Support Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will provide technical support for desktop computers, applications, and related technology. You will work closely with users to resolve issues and provide timely support.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide desktop support and maintenance for current and new systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Install, configure, and maintain desktop and laptop computers and peripherals.
  • Assist with the installation and configuration of software applications.
  • Maintain an inventory of hardware and software.
  • Provide end-user training and support.
  • Perform routine maintenance and system upgrades.
  • Document issues, resolutions, and changes in the support ticketing system.
  • Assist with network and server support as needed.
  • Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems.
  • Respond to user requests for service, troubleshoot problems, and help develop solutions.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Desktop Support Engineer, Technical Support Engineer, or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of desktop operating systems, including Windows, macOS, and Linux.
  • Familiarity with remote desktop applications and help desk software.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to provide step-by-step technical help, both written and verbal.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange.
  • Understanding of IT security practices.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
